As you can see the files for iPod Nano 3G (version 1.0.3) is called iPod_26.1.0.3.ipsw and iPod_26.1.0.3.ipsw.signature, where the last three digits are the version number and the number 26 is what tells you that it’s for the iPod Nano 3G (I do not know what the number is for other iPods) If you have another iPod, find out by looking around the internet or inside your “iPod Software Updates” folder (see where to find it further down) what the name for the files needed should be. +If you have an iPod Nano 3G skip this+. ¤ Download files (both needed) for version 1.0.3, 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 (these are only for iPod Nano 3G) ¤ Open iTunes and click on Edit > Preferences > General and uncheck "Check for updates automatically". *Downgrading your iPod (tested from version 1.1.3 to 1.0.3, Nano 3G 8GB, iTunes 8, Windows Vista)*
